SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of George Raymond Allen III of Alton, who 
4passed away on April 8, 2023; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, George Allen was born to George Raymond and 
6Yvette (Hays) Allen II in Taylorville on February 10, 1993; he 
7graduated from high school and completed two years of college; 
8he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2011 to 2015; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, George Allen met his significant other, Suzi 
10Johnes, more than 11 years ago, and they had one daughter, Leah 
11Allen; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, George Allen served as a volunteer fireman with 
13the Rivers Pointe Fire Department in West Alton; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, George Allen enjoyed fishing, playing video 
15games, and working on cars; most of all, he loved playing with 
16his daughter; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, George Allen was preceded in death by his father; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, George Allen is survived by his significant

1other, Suzi Johnes; his daughter, Leah Allen; his mother; and 
2his siblings, Megan Hays, Matthew Emerson, and Mitchell 
3Emerson; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6George Raymond Allen III and extend our sincere condolences to 
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of George Allen as an expression of our 
11deepest sympathy.
