SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jack Puckett of New Boston, who passed
4away on July 8, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Puckett was born to James H. and Betty J.
6Timms Puckett in Pace, Mississippi on February 28, 1939; he
7served in the U.S. Air Force; he married Peggie J. LeHew in
8Aledo on March 2, 1961, and she preceded him in death on July
920, 2018; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jack Puckett worked as a pipefitter welder
11through Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 25, where he was
12a 52-year member; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jack Puckett was a true outdoorsman and loved
14golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, and painting outdoor
15scenes; he was a talented welder, and he helped friends with
16welding projects and created bracelets, sculptures, and belt
17buckles; he was also an avid dog trainer and took great pride
18in his dogs; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jack Puckett's greatest joy was spending time
20with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Jack Puckett was preceded in death by his
2parents; his son in infancy, Timothy; his son, Joel Puckett;
3his brothers, John, James, and Elmer Puckett; his sister,
4Polly Mathis; and his great-grandson, Nathan Robertson; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Puckett is survived by his children, Montie
6(Teresa) Schell, Gene (Heather) Puckett, Rick Puckett, and
7Monica Ruddy; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one
8great-great-grandson; and his friend, Patty Meminger;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Jack Puckett and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Jack Puckett as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
