SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Johnny A. Wagner of Aledo, who passed
4away on May 29, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Johnny Wagner was born to Clyde J. and Naomi
6Finch Wagner in New Boston on August 14, 1926; he graduated
7from New Boston High School in 1944; he served in the U.S. Army
8from December 1950 to September 1952 and was stationed in
9Korea; he married Lois Scull in New Boston on June 28, 1952;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Johnny Wagner farmed with his son and his brother
12in the New Boston area for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Johnny Wagner was a 75-year member of the New
14Boston Masonic Lodge AF & AM #59, where he was a 33rd degree
15mason and served as master mason for four years and as
16secretary for 50 years; he was a lifetime member of Mercer
17County VFW Post 1571 and Aledo American Legion Fallerans #121;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Johnny Wagner enjoyed fishing, throwing
20horseshoes, gardening, and playing cards; and

1    WHEREAS, Johnny Wagner was preceded in death by his
2parents and one son, Elmer; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Johnny Wagner is survived by his wife, Lois; his
4daughters, Brenda (David Dixon) Wagner and Diane Dunn; his
5grandchildren, Amy (Kyle) Hirsh and John (Shelly Zachert)
6Dunn; three great-grandchildren, Mikayla Dunn, Lyjah Hirsh,
7and Minka Hirsh; his brother, Clyde "Dig" (Leila) Wagner; his
8sister, Patsy Henry; and several nieces and nephews;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Johnny A. Wagner and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Johnny Wagner as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
