SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James A. "Jim" Lawlor of Downers
4Grove, formerly of Broadview, Naperville, and Warrenville, who
5passed away on November 21, 2022; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jim Lawlor was born to James and Nancy (Ehredt)
7Lawlor in Chicago on October 18, 1958 and was raised in
8Broadview; he graduated from St. Ignatius High School in
9Chicago in 1976 and from Eastern Illinois University in
10Charleston with a degree in English; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jim Lawlor began his 38-year career with the City
12of Naperville in the Public Works Department and later became
13Operations Manager; he retired in June of 2021; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jim Lawlor enjoyed golfing, especially with his
15buddies known as the "Golf Gang"; he was known for his mastery
16of crossword puzzles and trivia and his affinity for Hello
17Kitty toys; he was a great dad and an even better grandpa; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jim Lawlor was preceded in death by his parents;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jim Lawlor is survived by his children, Jessica

1(Xian) Choy, Brendan (Melissa) Lawlor, and Mary Lawlor; his
2grandchildren, Claire and Maggie Choy and Eden Lawlor; his
3brothers, Martin (Gayle) Lawlor and Kevin (Jean) Lawlor; his
4sisters, Suzanne (Ulick) O'Reilly, Bridget (Mark) Holm, and
5Julia (Gary) Zuppa; his nieces and nephews, Brian, Michael,
6Rachel, Jacqueline, Eric, Adam, John, James, and Joseph; his
7great-nieces and great-nephews; his aunts, Delores Wilson and
8Phyllis Brinke; his cousins and friends, especially Al Ehredt
9and Mary Lafayette; and his grandcat, Carl; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12James A. "Jim" Lawlor and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Jim Lawlor as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
