SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Barbara J. "Barb" Metz-Schwass of
4Decatur, who passed away on March 27, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Barb Metz-Schwass was born to Melvin Gene and
6Peggy R. (Craver) Metz in Fairbury on February 28, 1961; she
7married Glen Schwass in Decatur on May 18, 2019; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Barb Metz-Schwass worked as an analyst for State
9Farm Insurance for 38 years until her retirement; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Barb Metz-Schwass was always helping others and
11served as an EMT in Lexington and Leroy for many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Barb Metz-Schwass was a member of First United
13Methodist Church in Fairbury and, more recently, a member of
14Life Builders Church of God in Decatur; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Barb Metz-Schwass enjoyed horseback riding,
16spending time outdoors, working on the farm, and spending time
17with her sons, grandchildren, and friends; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Barb Metz-Schwass was preceded in death by her
19father and a sister who died in infancy, Susan Elizabeth Metz;

2    WHEREAS, Barb Metz-Schwass is survived by her mother,
3Peggy Metz; her husband, Glen Schwass; her sons, Matthew
4(fiancée, Amanda Taylor) Metz and Evan Golliday; her
5stepchildren, Cathy Walters, Matthew (Kelly) Schwass, Kevin
6(Jaime) Schwass, Tara (Matthew) Daniels, Lance (Katie)
7Golliday, and Landon Golliday; her grandchildren, Austin,
8Antonio, Madyx, William, Reagan, Wyatt, Declan, Savannah, and
9Paisley; her sister, Sandra (John) Metz-McDermott; and her
10brother, Steven (Sherry) Metz; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Barbara J. "Barb" Metz-Schwass and extend our sincere
14condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Barb Metz-Schwass as an expression
18of our deepest sympathy.
