SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Robert "Andy" Alvey of Springfield, 
4who passed away on April 28, 2023; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Andy Alvey was born to Haskel Dale and Robbie Lee

6Clements Alvey in Harrisburg on  November 12, 1946; he married 
7Norma Jean Billington in Pontiac on July 15, 1966; he earned 
8his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and his 
9master's degree from
Southern Illinois University; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Andy Alvey was employed as a director and
civil 
11engineer with the Sangamon County Water Reclamation District 
12until his retirement after 37 years of service; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Andy Alvey was a member of Cherry Hills
Church, a 
14life member of the Abe Lincoln Gun Club, and a past member of 
15Masonic Lodge #333; he was also an
advocate for the Juvenile 
16Diabetes Foundation; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Andy Alvey was recognized as Engineer of the Year 
18and received the Young Engineer Award; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Andy Alvey was a private pilot who enjoyed 
20flying; he
loved playing golf and shooting sports; and

1    WHEREAS, Andy Alvey was preceded in death by his parents; 
2his grandsons, Conner and Henry Alvey; and his brother,
Steve 
3Alvey; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Andy Alvey is survived by his wife, Norma; his 
5sons, Ronald Lee (Chandra) Alvey, Brian Michael (Heather) 
6Alvey, and Jeffrey (Emily) Alvey; his grandchildren, Nick 
7(Ellie) Alvey, Natalie Alvey, Mariella Alvey, Zach Alvey, 
8Wesley
(Aley) Alvey, Alex Alvey, Gabi Alvey, Hadley Alvey, 
9Nathan Alvey, and Madisyn Alvey; six great-grandchildren;
and 
10his  siblings, William Lowell (Diana) Alvey  and Linda Sacry; 
11therefore, be it
  
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

14Robert "Andy" Alvey and extend our sincere
condolences to his 
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
16further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

18presented to the family of Andy Alvey as an expression of
our 
19deepest sympathy.
