2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Rod Krahl of Milan, who passed away on |
4 | | December 22, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl was born in Moline to Henry A. and |
6 | | Bernice M. (Lemon) Krahl on November 20, 1946; he served with |
7 | | the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Fran Thorpe at |
8 | | Zion Lutheran Church on January 31, 1969; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl started his career at Elliott Aviation |
10 | | as a flight instructor during the day and worked on the flight |
11 | | lines supporting aircraft during the evenings; he enjoyed a |
12 | | 42-year career in aviation, serving as chief pilot for both |
13 | | the Montgomery Elevator Company and Quest II, where he |
14 | | developed lifelong friendships with the Hank and Hallene |
15 | | families; and

16 | | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in |
17 | | Taylor Ridge, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and American |
18 | | Legion Post 1166 Reynolds; he enjoyed all things aviation and |
19 | | was an avid reader; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Rod Krahl is survived by his wife, Fran; his |
21 | | sons, Rod (Barb) Krahl, Ryan (Jen) Krahl, and Travis Krahl; |
