SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ronnie Joe Reiher of Carlinville, who
4passed away on March 24, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher was born to Harold and Wanda Caudle
6Reiher in Litchfield on January 8, 1951; he graduated from
7Carlinville High School in 1969 and served in the Army
8National Guard in Springfield from 1969 to 1977; he married
9Cindy Vance on November 11, 1977, and they later divorced; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher began his career in law enforcement
11as a part-time police officer at the Carlinville Police
12Department in March 1975, moving to a full time position in
13December 1977; he served as police chief from September 1988
14to May 1997; he continued to serve on the Carlinville Police
15Department until his retirement on May 3, 2011; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Throughout his adult life, Ronnie Reiher always
17looked forward to the spring and harvest seasons when he spent
18quality time with his best friend, Denny Joe Bouillon, while
19farming; in the summers, he loved cooking his famous fish
20sandwiches at the county fair alongside his son; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher was preceded in death by his

1father, Harold Reiher; his mother, Wanda Reiher Stevens; his
2sister, Vicki Foiles; his brother-in-law, Tom Rosenthal; and
3his nephew, Jared Wofford; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ronnie Reiher is survived by his son, Quinn
5(Bobbie Ann) Reiher; his daughters, Danley Reiher and Carmen
6(Aaron) Coe; his grandchildren, Bryson and Mila Coe; his
7sister, Jana Wofford; his brother-in-law, Nathan Foiles; his
8lifelong friend, Denny Joe (Patty) Bouillon; and his several
9nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Ronnie Joe Reiher and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ronnie Reiher as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
