SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mary Pat Madonia of Springfield, who
4passed away on April 4, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Pat Madonia was born to William and Margaret
6Jane "Polly" (Pollock) Bland in Evergreen Park on April 7,
71948; she graduated from Ursuline Academy and Lincoln Land
8Community College; she married Thomas Gene Madonia Sr. in
9Springfield on August 30, 1969, and he preceded her in death on
10November 21, 2002; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Pat Madonia worked as a registered nurse at
12both Memorial Medical Center and Southern Illinois University
13for over 40 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Pat Madonia was known as a little league
15mom, and she was a dedicated mother and homemaker for her
16family; she was an excellent cook and a devoted grandmother,
17affectionately called "Nannie" by her 10 grandchildren; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Pat Madonia was preceded in death by her
19husband, her parents, and her brother, John Bland; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mary Pat Madonia is survived by her sons, Tom

1(Katie) Madonia Jr., Mo (Sherri) Madonia, and Nick (Christine)
2Madonia; her grandchildren, Tynan, Nick Jr., Gretchen, Abby,
3Adam, Tommy, Grace, Ryan, Matthew, and Luca; her brother, Tom
4(Jeannette) Bland; her sister-in-law, Jeanne (Rich); her
5brother-in-law, Sam (Alice); and her nieces and nephews,
6Kelly, JC, Billy, Stacey, and Anne; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Mary Pat Madonia and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mary Pat Madonia as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
