SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department
4Captain Tad David Robison (Ret.) of Andalusia, who passed away
5on April 2, 2023; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison was born to David and Sharon
7(Dreessen) Robison on September 12, 1970; growing up, he was
8an active member in Boy Scouts Troop #425; he married Michelle
9Proksch of Moline on July 4, 1992; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison served in the Illinois National
11Guard; during his service, he received a number of accolades,
12including the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense
13Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the
14Illinois Long and Honorable Medal; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison began his love for firefighting as
16a volunteer firefighter in Coyne Center and Sherrard; he
17started his professional firefighting career at the Rock
18Island Arsenal Fire Department in March 2001, where he reached
19the rank of captain; when he accepted the position as a
20firefighter, he also took on the chef role in the firehouse and
21became known for producing delicious and plentiful amounts of
22food; he retired after 20 years of service in March 2021; and

1    WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Rock Island Arsenal
2Fire Department, Capt. Robison received the Civilian Service
3Commendation Medal, the Life Saving Hero of the Day award, and
4numerous letters of commendation for service to the Rock
5Island Arsenal; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison additionally served as an off-ice
7official for the Quad City Mallards and Storm hockey teams;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison enjoyed coaching and watching his
10daughter, Kaitlyn, play softball, starting with T-ball and
11going all the way to watching her play in college and Italy; he
12was a proud "Papa" to his grandson, Lorenzo David, who
13experienced his first hunting season with his grandfather last
14November; he loved hunting, fishing, and having a drink with
15all of his friends that he loved like brothers, and some of his
16fondest memories were made during their fishing trips to Lake
17Erie and the Hunters Prayer at the Iverson Garage every
18November; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison was very proud of his family,
20friends, and his career as a firefighter; he will be
21remembered for his strength, his determination, and his
22passion for his job; and

1    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison was preceded in death by his
2grandparents, Ken and Marjorie Dreessen and Jesse and Pauline
3Robison; his uncles, Jesse JR Robison and Hank Hanson; and his
4many pets; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Capt. Robison is survived by his wife, Michelle;
6his daughter, Kaitlyn (Gino) DeGeorge; his grandson; his
7parents; his sister, Tara (Brad) Stauffer; his niece, Kelsa
8Stauffer; his aunts, Pat (Jay) Thomas and Jackie Hanson; his
9special friends, Adam Clark, Don Henry, and Mike Iverson; his
10firefighter family; and his large extended family; therefore,
11be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department Captain Tad David Robison
15(Ret.) and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
16friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Capt. Robison as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
