AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2862 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2862 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended 
5by adding Section 9.44 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 205/9.44 new)
7    Sec. 9.44. In-demand job list. 
8    (a) The Board, in collaboration with the Department of 
9Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Department of Employment 
10Security, shall compile, on an annual basis, a list of the most 
11in-demand jobs in this State, along with the starting salary, 
12the median salary, and the typical education level for those 
13jobs.
14    Upon request, the Department of Commerce and Economic 
15Opportunity and the Department of Employment Security shall 
16furnish data to the Board to fulfill the requirements of this

1subsection (a).
2    (b) The Board shall make the list compiled under 
3subsection (a) available to the public on its Internet 
4website.
 
5    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 
62024.".
