| 1 | | AN ACT concerning education.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 9.44 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 205/9.44 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 9.44. In-demand job list. |
| 8 | | (a) The Board, in collaboration with the Department of |
| 9 | | Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Department of Employment |
| 10 | | Security, shall compile, on an annual basis, a list of the most |
| 11 | | in-demand jobs in this State, along with the starting salary, |
| 12 | | the median salary, and the typical education level for those |
| 13 | | jobs. |
| 14 | | Upon request, the Department of Commerce and Economic |
| 15 | | Opportunity and the Department of Employment Security shall |
| 16 | | furnish data to the Board to fulfill the requirements of this |
| 17 | | subsection (a). |
| 18 | | (b) The Board shall make the list compiled under |
| 19 | | subsection (a) available to the public on its Internet |
| 20 | | website.

| 21 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
| 22 | | 2024. |
