AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1710 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1710 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended  by adding 
5Section 11-315 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/11-315 new)
7    Sec. 11-315. Bicycle trail signage. The authority having 
8maintenance jurisdiction over publicly owned bicycle trails in 
9the State shall erect permanent regulatory or warning signage 
10alerting pedestrians or cyclists of vehicle crossings.  In the 
11event of an emergency or safety hazard, the authority having 
12maintenance jurisdiction over publicly owned bicycle trails 
13shall erect temporary signage alerting pedestrians or cyclists 
14of damage to the trail, maintenance being performed on the 
15trail, or other temporary hazards along the trail. The 
16Department with reference to State highways under its

1jurisdiction, and the local authority with reference to other 
2highways under its jurisdiction, shall erect permanent signage 
3warning vehicular traffic in advance of bicycle trail 
4crossings.  Signage erected as part of this Section shall 
5conform with the State manual and permanent advanced warning 
6signage shall be located at least 150 feet in advance of the 
7crossing.".
