SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Appropriates $1,000,000 from the Education Assistance Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for grants to eligible nurse educators to use for payment of their educational loan pursuant to Public Act 94-1020. Appropriates $1,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Board of Higher Education for nurse educator fellowships to supplement nurse faculty salaries. Appropriates $1,500,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Board of Higher Education for competitive grants for nursing schools to increase the number of graduating nurses. Effective July 1, 2023.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Then sum total of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the Education Assistance Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for grants to eligible nurse educators to use for payment of their educational loan pursuant to Public Act 94-1020.
The sum total of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Board of Higher Education for nurse educator fellowships to supplement nurse faculty salaries.
The sum total of $1,500,000 is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Board of Higher Education for competitive grants for nursing schools to increase the number of graduating nurses.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2023.
