HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Daniel
4Adalberto Salgado, who passed away on November 11, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was born to Herminio Herman
6Salgado and Eloisa Cortes in Blue Island on June 14, 1933; he
7served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to
81955; he married Maria Del Carmen Maldonado in 1960;
9throughout his life, he resided in Blue Island and Calumet
10Park, Illinois, Santa Rosa, California, and Morelia,
11Michoacan, Mexico; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado worked as a dedicated steel mill
13worker at ACME Steel for 42 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was a member at Seven Holy
15Founders Church in Calumet Park and St. John the Baptist
16Church in Healdsburg, California; he served as president of
17Latin Americans For America in Calumet Park, and he was an
18active parent volunteer at Eisenhower High School in Blue
19Island; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado enjoyed caring for his and his
21children's properties; and

1    WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was known for his laughter and
2zest for life, and he felt most fulfilled when surrounded by
3those he loved; he will be remembered for his legacy of hard
4work, justice, family unity, generosity, and community
5service; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was preceded in death by his
7parents and his siblings, Eucario, Lucia, Alfred, and
8Salvador; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Daniel Salgado was the husband of Maria Del
10Carmen; the father of Hector (Sylvia) Garza, Emma Garza,
11Alejandra (Leo) Mendez, Carmen Salgado, Reina (Alfonso)
12Salinas, Daniel (Rhonda) Salgado, Juan (Leticia) Salgado, and
13Lily (Joe) Barrera; the grandfather of 22; the
14great-grandfather of 19; the brother of Herman G. (Esperanza)
15Salgado and Herminio (Antonia) Salgado; and the brother-in-law
16of Leonor Salgado; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
18HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19we mourn the passing of Daniel Adalberto Salgado and extend
20our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
21knew and loved him; and be it further
