2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Plymouth Tube Company | ||||||
4 | on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company is a fifth-generation, | ||||||
6 | family-owned U.S. manufacturing company, classed as a small | ||||||
7 | business and headquartered in Warrenville; the company was | ||||||
8 | founded in Plymouth, Michigan in 1924 and specializes in the | ||||||
9 | manufacturing of steel tubing and titanium and steel | ||||||
10 | extrusions for demanding use in a variety of markets; and | ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has grown into a | ||||||
12 | supplier for a multitude of markets, including aerospace, life | ||||||
13 | sciences, fluid power, automation, chemical processing, heavy | ||||||
14 | equipment, nuclear energy, performance racing, space | ||||||
15 | propulsion, industrial markets, and more, which shapes its | ||||||
16 | legacy of innovation and continued growth; and | ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company regularly participates | ||||||
18 | in air shows, including the Paris Air Show and the Farnborough | ||||||
19 | International Airshow, which brings together leaders in the | ||||||
20 | aerospace and defense industries to display their latest | ||||||
21 | innovations, including the Plymouth Tube Company's titanium | ||||||
22 | extrusions and stainless steel tubing; and |

1 | WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company also encourages its | ||||||
2 | employees to give back to their communities through volunteer | ||||||
3 | service, specifically challenging them to record a minimum of | ||||||
4 | 100 hours of service or volunteerism per site by September 11, | ||||||
5 | 2024 in honor of Patriot Day; employees recorded a total of | ||||||
6 | 1,633 hours of service, which included sports coaching, elder | ||||||
7 | care, crisis center assistance, natural disaster relief, | ||||||
8 | veteran support, animal rescue, and blood drives; and | ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has engineered | ||||||
10 | innovations that originated from customer interactions, | ||||||
11 | including nuclear thimble tubes to house the nuclear reactor | ||||||
12 | temperature gauges, near-net titanium extrusions for weight | ||||||
13 | and material savings for both commercial and defense aviation | ||||||
14 | applications, and Plymouth ProMoly race car chassis tubing | ||||||
15 | that keeps drivers safe during race day crashes; and | ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, The Plymouth Tube Company has implemented waste | ||||||
17 | reduction techniques that include benefits for environmental | ||||||
18 | sustainability and cost reduction, which, according to the | ||||||
19 | U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, eliminated a costly | ||||||
20 | hazardous waste stream of ink by changing the printing process | ||||||
21 | at one manufacturing facility; in addition, the team at a | ||||||
22 | different Plymouth Tube Company facility identified and | ||||||
23 | completed a 13.5 million standard cubic feet per year |

1 | reduction in hydrogen usage; therefore, be it | ||||||
2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
3 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
4 | we congratulate the Plymouth Tube Company on the occasion of | ||||||
5 | its 100th anniversary and commend the continued commitment by | ||||||
6 | the employees, executives, and leadership to support and | ||||||
7 | supply American markets with high-quality tubing; and be it | ||||||
8 | further | ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the Plymouth Tube Company as a symbol of our | ||||||
11 | esteem and respect. |
