| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to recognize Sandra Marbeth on her | ||||||
| 4 | commitment to foster care through her work with SOS Children's | ||||||
| 5 | Villages Illinois; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Founded over 30 years ago, SOS Children's | ||||||
| 7 | Villages Illinois is an award-winning, non-profit organization | ||||||
| 8 | that strives to keep siblings together while providing an | ||||||
| 9 | individual licensed home in a supportive, community | ||||||
| 10 | environment that marshals all the resources needed to help | ||||||
| 11 | at-risk youth in foster care heal and achieve their permanency | ||||||
| 12 | goals; the non-profit currently operates four sites, three | ||||||
| 13 | Villages that provide sibling group foster care, located in | ||||||
| 14 | Lockport and the Auburn Gresham and the Roosevelt Square | ||||||
| 15 | Community neighborhoods of Chicago, and the Casa Tepeyac | ||||||
| 16 | facility that offers preventative and in-home services, which | ||||||
| 17 | is located in the Back of the Yards neighborhood of Chicago; | ||||||
| 18 | and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Sandra Marbeth's journey into foster care began | ||||||
| 20 | at St. Coletta's, where she cared for children born to mothers | ||||||
| 21 | struggling with drug addiction; her deep connection to the | ||||||
| 22 | children and her unwavering passion led her to join SOS | ||||||
| 23 | Children's Villages; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Over the past 30 years, Sandra Marbeth has | ||||||
| 2 | fostered more than 64 children, adopting six out of her first | ||||||
| 3 | sibling set of eight; she has operated as a foster parent out | ||||||
| 4 | of the organization's Lockport Village; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Sandra Marbeth has long understood the importance | ||||||
| 6 | of foster parents dedicating parts of their lives to the | ||||||
| 7 | children in their care, serving as a stabilizing force for | ||||||
| 8 | at-risk youth who may need additional time and patience to | ||||||
| 9 | build strong relationships based on trust with others; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Sandra Marbeth's commitment to providing love and | ||||||
| 11 | stability has made her an inspirational figure in the world of | ||||||
| 12 | foster care, and her dedication serves as a testament to the | ||||||
| 13 | profound impact one person can have on the lives of others; | ||||||
| 14 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 16 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 17 | we recognize Sandra Marbeth on her commitment to foster care | ||||||
| 18 | through her work with SOS Children's Villages Illinois, and we | ||||||
| 19 | thank her for her continued service in caring for at-risk | ||||||
| 20 | children in the State of Illinois; and be it further | ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
