2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Arles Hendershott Love on | ||||||
4 | being inducted into the Illinois State University TV-10 | ||||||
5 | Broadcast Hall of Fame on April 13, 2024; and | ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Arles Love graduated with high honors from | ||||||
7 | Illinois State University in 1979, receiving her bachelor's | ||||||
8 | degree in Information Sciences; and | ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Arles Love spent her broadcasting career in the | ||||||
10 | Rockford Region, working for WTVO and WIFR as a reporter, | ||||||
11 | photographer, producer, and assignment editor prior to being | ||||||
12 | promoted to news director at WIFR in 1986, when less than 5% of | ||||||
13 | news directors in the country were women; and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Arles Love rose to the corporate level, becoming | ||||||
15 | community relations director for WIFR and Benedek Broadcasting | ||||||
16 | in 1997, where she developed new revenue streams and | ||||||
17 | established community-centric events that reinvested into the | ||||||
18 | communities served by news stations; and | ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Arles Love spent 25 years in the broadcast | ||||||
20 | industry, paved the way for successful careers for women | ||||||
21 | entering broadcast media, and continued her career in |

1 | contribution and service to her community; and | ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, In 2005, Arles Love became the development | ||||||
3 | director at Milestone, the largest provider of services to | ||||||
4 | children and adults with developmental disabilities in | ||||||
5 | Northern Illinois; and | ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Arles Love, working as a department of one, has | ||||||
7 | secured $24 million in contributions over the past 18 years | ||||||
8 | for children and adults with developmental disabilities; and | ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Arles Love has been actively engaged with her | ||||||
10 | community, serving on countless boards, advocating for | ||||||
11 | legislation, and creating and organizing events to support | ||||||
12 | arts and culture venues, increase awareness of health issues, | ||||||
13 | and bring assistance to homeless individuals; and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, In 2024, Arles Love will be honored for her | ||||||
15 | inspirational career in broadcast media, as well as her | ||||||
16 | incredible devotion to the betterment of her community, | ||||||
17 | through her inclusion in the Illinois State University TV-10 | ||||||
18 | Broadcast Hall of Fame; therefore, be it | ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
20 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
21 | we congratulate Arles Hendershott Love on being inducted into |

3 | RESOLVED, That we recognize Arles Love's contributions to | ||||||

7 | presented to Arles Love as a symbol of our esteem and respect. |
