HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Natalie Jo Evans of
4Jacksonville on the occasion of being crowned the 2024 Miss
5Illinois County Fair Queen; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The 2024 Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant
7was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield from January
812 to January 14, 2024; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Natalie Evans, the daughter of Sean and Amy
10Evans, is the first Morgan County Fair Queen in history to take
11home the state title, being selected from among 73 contestants
12during the annual pageant to become the 64th Miss Illinois
13County Fair Queen; and
 
14    WHEREAS, During the pageant, Natalie Evans and her fellow
15contestants completed personal interviews with five judges
16before taking part in the onstage evening gown, swimsuit, and
17speech preliminary competition in front of an enthusiastic
18crowd of more than 1,000 spectators; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Natalie Evans, a graduate of Routt Catholic High
20School, currently attends Murray State University in Kentucky
21as a pre-veterinary major; after graduation, she intends to

1enroll in the University of Illinois College of Veterinary
2Medicine and become a veterinarian specializing in
3large-animal medicine; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Natalie Evans' passion for animals stems from her
511 years as a member of the East Side Juniors 4-H Club in
6Jacksonville and her many years of showing her Red Angus
7cattle at county fairs, which she plans to continue pursuing;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, As part of her Miss Illinois County Fair Queen
10duties, Natalie Evans will serve as the official hostess of
11the 2024 Illinois State Fair in Springfield and the 2024
12DuQuoin State Fair in DuQuoin; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
14HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
15we congratulate Natalie Jo Evans on being crowned the 2024
16Miss Illinois County Fair Queen; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Natalie Evans as an expression of our esteem and
19respect.
