HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Gabriel
4C. "Gabe" Chiaro, who passed away on November 30, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro was born to Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel
6Chiaro Sr. in Chicago on September 9, 1943; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro was a notable businessman in the area
8known for his vibrant personality and charitable heart; he and
9his young family made a home in Springfield in 1980 and began a
10long career of thriving family enterprises; he partnered in
11the opening of Aurelio's Pizza, then went on to open The
12Horseshoe Pub, Gabe's Corner at the Illinois State Fair, and
13Gabe's Home Improvement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro found genuine joy in family
15gatherings, in honoring his heritage by serving as president
16of the Roman Cultural Society, and in rooting for his favorite
17Chicago teams, the Blackhawks, the Cubs, and the Bears; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro built a reputation based on honesty
19and integrity and left a lasting mark on his community; he
20leaves behind the memories of a life well lived, full of
21kindness and a commitment to the greater good; and

1    WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro was preceded in death by his parents;
2his brother, Vince Chiaro; and his sister, Nancy (Chiaro)
3Bossi; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Gabe Chiaro is survived by his sisters, Rita
5(Chiaro) Barton and Bernadette Chiaro; his wife of 53 years,
6Velma Chiaro; his son, Brandon, his wife, Angie, and his sons,
7Collin and Corbin; his son, Brett, his wife, Kristen, his
8stepdaughter, Victoria, and his son, Cameron; and his son,
9Blake, his wife, Erika, his daughter, Cecily, and his son,
10Conrad; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we mourn the passing of Gabriel C. "Gabe" Chiaro and extend our
14sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
15and loved him; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Gabe Chiaro as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
