| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Al Nett | ||||||
| 4 | of Bull Valley, who passed away on April 14, 2023; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Al Nett was born to Leo and Rose Nett in Fond du | ||||||
| 6 | Lac, Wisconsin on January 6, 1939; he was raised on a farm in | ||||||
| 7 | Wisconsin; he graduated from St. Mary's Springs High School in | ||||||
| 8 | 1957; he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at St. Joseph's | ||||||
| 9 | College, where he was a member of the tennis team; he served in | ||||||
| 10 | the U.S. Navy; he married Carole J. Klink in St. Lawrence, | ||||||
| 11 | Wisconsin on June 8, 1963; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, After his military service, Al Nett moved to | ||||||
| 13 | Madison, Wisconsin and began working for the West Bend | ||||||
| 14 | Company; he was employed by the West Bend Company for 32 years, | ||||||
| 15 | finishing his career as an executive sales manager; his long | ||||||
| 16 | career in sales introduced him to many people and places; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Al Nett served the communities where he lived, | ||||||
| 18 | and he was a proud member of the Johnsburg Rescue Squad, the | ||||||
| 19 | Johnsburg Community Club, and the Daniel Boone Conservation | ||||||
| 20 | League; he was also an active member of St. John the Baptist | ||||||
| 21 | Roman Catholic Church; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Al Nett had a lifelong love for the outdoors; he | ||||||
| 2 | attended the Oshkosh Air Show each summer, where he developed | ||||||
| 3 | a longtime passion for flying and airplanes; he was a lifelong | ||||||
| 4 | sports fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Cubs, and the | ||||||
| 5 | University of Illinois; he enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, | ||||||
| 6 | snow skiing, boating, and going on fishing trips to Canada; he | ||||||
| 7 | also loved taking care of his many Scottish Terrier granddogs; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Al Nett was happiest when surrounded by his | ||||||
| 10 | family; he will be remembered as a spirited soul who possessed | ||||||
| 11 | a great smile; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Al Nett was preceded in death by his parents and | ||||||
| 13 | his son, Michael "MJ" Nett; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Al Nett is survived by his wife; his children, | ||||||
| 15 | Daniel C. (Leilani) Nett and John (Jodi) Nett; his | ||||||
| 16 | grandchildren, Denali Nett, Trinity Nett, and LaToya Marz; his | ||||||
| 17 | cousins; his nieces and nephews; and his friends; therefore, | ||||||
| 18 | be it

| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 20 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 21 | we mourn the passing of Al Nett and extend our deepest | ||||||
| 22 | sympathies to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
| 3 | presented to the family of Al Nett as an expression of
our | ||||||
| 4 | deepest sympathy.
