2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lillian |
4 | | Mary Cherry of Chicago, who passed away on July 19, 2023; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Cherry was born to Elise and Willie |
6 | | Jarvis Sr. in Chicago on January 31, 1925; she graduated from |
7 | | Dusable High School; she married Ervin Cherry on January 29, |
8 | | 1950; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Cherry attended Holy Angels Catholic |
10 | | Church, where she participated in many events and enjoyed |
11 | | volunteering; she was a longtime member of the Blessed |
12 | | Sacrament Society; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Cherry was an avid traveler; more than |
14 | | anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family; every |
15 | | year, she looked forward to the holidays and the Cherry Family |
16 | | Reunion, where she could visit with all of the family at one |
17 | | time; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Cherry was preceded in death by her |
19 | | husband; her parents; her brothers, Willie Jarvis Jr. and |
20 | | Wyatt Jarvis; and her cousin, Dolores Payne; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Cherry is survived by her children, |
2 | | Elsie, Sybil, Delores, Denise, Robbin, Darlene, Sylvia, and |
3 | | Marc; her grandchildren, Eddie, Stevie, Gene, Jerry, Patrice, |
4 | | Lisa, Tanya, Antoinette, Cheney, Donald, Dujuan, Angela, |
5 | | Thomasine, Lillian, Shenelle, Robin, Rayshawn, Jaunnine, |
6 | | Jasmine, Timmie Jr., Todd, Stephon, and Tamara; her |
7 | | great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
her |
8 | | brothers, Sam Jarvis and Russell Jarvis; her sister, Nola |
9 | | Buford; and her goddaughter, Georgetta Williams; therefore, be |

11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
