2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Mark and Rose Froseth for | ||||||
4 | being named 2023 Gurnee Days Honorees; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Rose Froseth has been a Gurnee resident since | ||||||
6 | 1998, and Mark Froseth has been a Gurnee resident since 2008; | ||||||
7 | and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Mark and Rose Froseth were married in 2009; they | ||||||
9 | have six children, Stacy Froseth, Chris (Audrey) Froseth, | ||||||
10 | Jenna (Shawn Schlosser) Sanders, Krista (Toya Crow) Sanders, | ||||||
11 | Jason (Perla Orozco) Sanders, and Haley Sanders, and two | ||||||
12 | grandchildren, Joel and Mila; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Mark and Rose Froseth appreciate the ability to | ||||||
14 | serve together and are passionate about volunteering with | ||||||
15 | various organizations; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Many of their volunteer opportunities have | ||||||
17 | resulted from Mark and Rose Froseth's connection with their | ||||||
18 | church community of Joy! Lutheran Church (Joy!) in Gurnee; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Rose Froseth has been a member of Joy! since 1996 | ||||||
20 | and Mark Froseth has been a member since 2008; and

1 | WHEREAS, From 2011 to 2018, Mark and Rose Froseth joined | ||||||
2 | members of Joy! to serve and eventually lead groups with | ||||||
3 | Habitat for Humanity in El Salvador; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, In 2014, Mark and Rose Froseth began doing | ||||||
5 | monthly food deliveries from the COOL Food Pantry to those who | ||||||
6 | are not able to get to the food pantry on their own; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Starting in 2015, Mark and Rose Froseth, along | ||||||
8 | with their church small group Faith In Action, partnered with | ||||||
9 | PADS of Lake County to start Housing First/Ten To End, which is | ||||||
10 | a privately funded concept that puts people experiencing | ||||||
11 | chronic homelessness directly into housing with case worker | ||||||
12 | support; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, In 2018, Mark and Rose Froseth began volunteering | ||||||
14 | with Love INC's New Hope Ministry, which provides dinner and | ||||||
15 | fellowship along with multiple life skills classes; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, From 2019 to 2021, Mark and Rose Froseth led a | ||||||
17 | Joy! vision team focusing on inclusivity; this team helped | ||||||
18 | transition Joy! into a community that overtly welcomes and | ||||||
19 | includes people who identify as LGBTQIA+; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Starting in 2022, Mark and Rose Froseth began |

| |||||||
1 | facilitating anti-racism studies at Joy!; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The Honoree Reception is presented by the Village | ||||||
3 | of Gurnee and the Gurnee Park District to individuals who have | ||||||
4 | given selfless service to the community; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mark and Rose Froseth exemplify this selfless | ||||||
6 | service; therefore, be it
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
8 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
9 | we congratulate Mark and Rose Froseth for being named the 2023 | ||||||
10 | Gurnee Days Honorees; and be it further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to Mark and Rose Froseth as a symbol of our esteem | ||||||
13 | and respect.
