2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Lincoln High School |
4 | | girls basketball team, the Railsplitters, for their |
5 | | performance during the 2022-23 season; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, The Railsplitters, through teamwork and |
7 | | dedication, remained indomitable this season, concluding with |
8 | | a record of 36-1; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, The Railsplitters entered the Illinois High |
10 | | School Association (IHSA) Class 3A Girls Basketball State |
11 | | Finals as strong contenders against the Nazareth Academy girls |
12 | | basketball team, the Roadrunners, of LaGrange Park; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, The Railsplitters put together an amazing |
14 | | defensive effort, ultimately achieving a final score of 52-63 |
15 | | to place second in the State; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, During the 2022-23 season, the Railsplitters |
17 | | achievements include being named champions of the Pana |
18 | | Thanksgiving Tournament, the
Dixon Holiday Tournament, the
|
19 | | Apollo Conference, Regionals,
Sectionals,
and Super Sectionals |
20 | | and placing as
State Runner-up; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, The Railsplitters additionally set several team |
2 | | records this season, including accomplishing 36 consecutive |
3 | | wins, 36 wins in a season, and 14 three-point field goals in a |
4 | | single game; and

5 | | WHEREAS, The Railsplitters team is led by Head Coach |
6 | | Taylor Rohrer, who has helped these young women to play their |
7 | | best against any team they encountered; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, The Railsplitters team is also led by Assistant |
9 | | Coaches Cory Farmer and Grace Bossingham, Athletic Trainer |
10 | | Matt While, and Managers Myah Bowman, Tamari Pressior, Ryan |
11 | | Fruge, and Kip Dunham; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, The Railsplitters team includes Ceana Adams, |
13 | | Jenna Bowman, Mia Clark, Kloe Froebe, Tori Geriets, Destinee |
14 | | Harper, Becca Heitzig, Lily Holmes, Makinley Knapp, Mesa |
15 | | McCloud, Grace Schneider, Taryn Stoltzenburg, and Piper |
16 | | Whiteman; therefore, be it

17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
18 | | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
19 | | we congratulate the Lincoln High School girls basketball team, |
20 | | the Railsplitters, and Head Coach Taylor Rohrer for an |
