2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Jeff Maierhofer on his |
4 | | 34-year career at Seneca High School and recognize the |
5 | | positive impact he has had on students; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer received his education at the |
7 | | University of Illinois and obtained a dual major in |
8 | | agriculture education and agriculture economics in 1988 and a |
9 | | master's degree in agriculture education in 1992; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer embarked on his career in |
11 | | education in 1989 in Seneca, and his teaching has included |
12 | | agriculture industry, agriculture sciences, horticulture, and |
13 | | agribusiness management; and |
14 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer's career in education at Seneca |
15 | | has had a particular focus on agriculture; he teaches |
16 | | agriculture, is the advisor of Seneca's Future Farmers of |
17 | | America (FFA), and manages the school's land lab; and |
18 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer has represented agricultural |
19 | | education in leadership capacities across the country; |
20 | | Seneca's agricultural education department and its Future |
21 | | Farmers of America have been recognized on the state and |

1 | | national level, including 18 consecutive Illinois FFA |
2 | | Outstanding Chapter recognitions; and |
3 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer is a member of the Illinois |
4 | | Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers (IAVAT), the |
5 | | Illinois Association of Career and Technical Educators |
6 | | (IACTE), the National Association of Agriculture Educators |
7 | | (NAAE), and the Association for Career and Technical Education |
8 | | (ACTE); and |
9 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer served on the Illinois FFA Board |
10 | | of Directors, was elected as the 2004-2005 National |
11 | | Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) National |
12 | | President, spent two terms on the National Council for |
13 | | Agricultural Education, was a consultant to the National FFA |
14 | | Board of Directors, Trustees of the National FFA Foundation, |
15 | | and served as the National Vice President of the Ag Ed Division |
16 | | of the Association of Career and Technical Educators (ACTE) |
17 | | from 2010-2012; in addition, he serves as an associate |
18 | | director for the LaSalle County Soil and Water Conservation |
19 | | District; and |
20 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer was awarded the 2022 National |
21 | | ACTE Carl Perkins Community Service Award from the Association |
22 | | for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), which recognizes |
23 | | individuals who have used CTE to make a significant impact on |

1 | | their community and who have demonstrated leadership in |
2 | | programs and activities that promote student involvement in |
3 | | community service; and |
4 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer is a local historian and served |
5 | | on the board of directors of the Seneca Historical Guild, |
6 | | where he was the lead author for The Story of Seneca, Illinois |
7 | | and helped create the Seneca Area Heritage Museum; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer is a lifelong resident of Seneca, |
9 | | where he still lives on the family's Centennial Farm north of |
10 | | town; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer's wife, Jenna, is also an |
12 | | educator and teaches math at Seneca High School, and the |
13 | | couple are proud parents of two vibrant boys, Levi James and |
14 | | Calvin Jon; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Maierhofer enjoys working with his father on |
16 | | the farm and plays baseball and softball whenever possible; |
17 | | therefore, be it

18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
19 | | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
20 | | we congratulate Jeff Maierhofer on his retirement and thank |
21 | | him for his 34 years of service as an educator at Seneca High |
