| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Christopher High |
| 4 | | School girls basketball team, the Lady Bearcats, on finishing |
| 5 | | in 2nd place in IHSA Class 1A Girls Basketball for the 2022-23 |
| 6 | | season; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, The Lady Bearcats started the season by winning |
| 8 | | the DuQuoin Tip-Off Tournament and finished the season with an |
| 9 | | impressive record of 31 wins and 4 losses; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The Lady Bearcats won the West Division for the |
| 11 | | third consecutive year and went undefeated in the Black |
| 12 | | Diamond Conference; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The Lady Bearcats became Regional Champions with |
| 14 | | a 35 to 28 win over Woodlawn High School and Sectional |
| 15 | | Champions with a 58 to 43 win over Edwards County High School |
| 16 | | (Albion), the first basketball team in school history to win a |
| 17 | | Sectional Championship; they became Super-Sectional Champions |
| 18 | | with a 50 to 45 win over Neoga High School; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, The Lady Bearcats earned their spot in the |
| 20 | | championship game with a commanding 42 to 28 win in the State |
| 21 | | Semifinal game over The High School of St. Thomas More in |
|
