| Amends the University of Illinois Hospital Act. 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The University of Illinois Hospital Act is |
5 | | amended by adding Section 6.8 as follows: |
6 | | (110 ILCS 330/6.8 new) |
7 | | Sec. 6.8. Opioid antagonist. The University of Illinois |
8 | | Hospital shall provide patients who overdose or have symptoms |
9 | | of opioid use disorder with an opioid antagonist upon |
10 | | discharge. |
11 | | Section 10. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by |
12 | | adding Section 6.35 as follows: |
13 | | (210 ILCS 85/6.35 new) |
14 | | Sec. 6.35. Opioid antagonist. A hospital licensed under |
15 | | this Act must provide patients who overdose or have symptoms |
16 | | of opioid use disorder with an opioid antagonist upon |
17 | | discharge. |
