Provides, in a provision concerning the Department on Aging's contract with area agencies on aging, that services under the Act must be provided according to the requirements of federal law and rules when State funding is used to provide those services (now, services under the Act must be provided according to the requirements of federal law and rules except when services are being provided with State funding to grandparents or older individuals who are relative caregivers). Effective July 1, 2024. |

1 | | AN ACT concerning aging. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The Family Caregiver Act is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 25 as follows: |
6 | | (320 ILCS 65/25) |
7 | | Sec. 25. Provision of services. The Department shall |
8 | | contract with area agencies on aging and other appropriate |
9 | | agencies to conduct family caregiver support services to the |
10 | | extent of available State and federal funding. Services |
11 | | provided under this Act must be provided according to the |
12 | | requirements of federal law and rules , except for the |
13 | | provision of services to grandparents or older individuals who |
14 | | are relative caregivers when State funding is used utilized to |
15 | | provide those services. |
