SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Appropriates $2,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Agriculture to be used as a grant given by the Department of Agriculture to an Illinois higher education institution’s integrated bioprocessing research laboratory for the expansion of alternative protein research. Effective July 1, 2023.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The amount of $2,000,000, or as much of that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Agriculture to be used as a grant given by the Department of Agriculture to an Illinois higher education institution’s integrated bioprocessing research laboratory for the expansion of alternative protein research.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2023.
