| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 356z.61 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 356z.61. Coverage for children with neuromuscular, |
| 8 | | neurological, or cognitive impairment. A group or individual |
| 9 | | policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered, |
| 10 | | issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 shall provide |
| 11 | | coverage for therapy, diagnostic testing, and equipment |
| 12 | | necessary to increase quality of life for children who have |
| 13 | | been clinically or genetically diagnosed with any disease, |
| 14 | | syndrome, or disorder that includes low tone neuromuscular |
| 15 | | impairment, neurological impairment, or cognitive impairment.
