2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Criminal Code of 2012 is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 33-1 as follows:
|
6 | | (720 ILCS 5/33-1) (from Ch. 38, par. 33-1)

7 | | Sec. 33-1. Bribery. A person commits bribery when:
|
8 | | (a) With intent to influence the performance of any |
9 | | act related
to the employment or function of any public |
10 | | officer, public
employee, elector of President and |
11 | | Vice-President of the United States, juror or witness, he |
12 | | or she promises or tenders to that person
any property or |
13 | | personal advantage which he or she is not authorized by
|
14 | | law to accept; or
|
15 | | (b) With intent to influence the performance of any |
16 | | act related
to the employment or function of any public |
17 | | officer, public
employee, elector of President and |
18 | | Vice-President of the United States, juror or witness, he |
19 | | or she promises or tenders to one whom he
or she believes |
20 | | to be a public officer, public employee, elector of |
