Amends the Illinois State Police Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Illinois State Police, with cooperation of the Governor, the Illinois Department of Transportation, any other appropriate State agency, and State or local police and public safety agencies, shall develop and implement an alert system to be activated on report of an active shooter. Provides that the Director of the Illinois State Police shall be the statewide coordinator of the alert system. Provides that the coordinator shall adopt rules and issue directives as necessary to ensure proper implementation of the alert system. Provides that the rules and directives shall prescribe procedures for local law enforcement agencies requesting activation of the alert system.
Provides that the Illinois State Police shall recruit public and commercial television and radio broadcasters, mobile telephone service providers, private commercial entities, State or local governmental entities, the public, and other appropriate persons to assist in developing and implementing the alert system. Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois to make conforming changes. Effective immediately.

9 | | (a) The Illinois State Police, with the cooperation of the |

13 | | to be activated upon the report of an active shooter. |
14 | | (b) The Director of the Illinois State Police shall be the |
