Amends the Driver's License Medical Review Law of 1992 Article of the Illinois Vehicle Code. Allows an immediate family member of a person to submit information to the Secretary of State concerning the medical condition of that person if the condition interferes with the person's ability to operate a motor vehicle safely. Defines "immediate family member" as a parent, sibling, child by blood or adoption, stepchild, spouse, grandparent, or grandchild.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by |
5 | | changing Sections 6-901 and 6-911 as follows:

7 | | Sec. 6-901. Definitions. For the purposes of this
Article:

8 | | "Board" means the Driver's License Medical Advisory Board. |
9 | | "Immediate family member" means a parent, sibling, child |
10 | | by blood or adoption, stepchild, spouse, grandparent, or |
11 | | grandchild.
|
12 | | "Medical examiner" or "medical practitioner" means: |
13 | | (i) any
person licensed to practice medicine in all |
14 | | its branches in
the State of Illinois or any other state;
|
15 | | (ii) a licensed physician assistant; or |
16 | | (iii) a licensed advanced practice registered nurse. |
