2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Margaret Louise "Peggy" Knosher, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 86; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was born in Eagleton, Wisconsin on | ||||||
6 | October 26, 1935, the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Meyer; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher graduated from Naperville High | ||||||
8 | School in 1953 and completed Registered Nurses Training at | ||||||
9 | Copley Hospital in Aurora in 1956; upon completion of her | ||||||
10 | training, she cared for patients in various doctors' offices | ||||||
11 | in the area; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, On December 24, 1956, Peggy Knosher married | ||||||
13 | Harlan Knosher; she continued to work as a nurse until the | ||||||
14 | birth of their first child, after which she elected to stay at | ||||||
15 | home to raise her daughter; her husband worked as a professor | ||||||
16 | of Physical Education and eventually became Director of | ||||||
17 | Athletics at Knox College in Galesburg; and | ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Once her two daughters were grown, Peggy Knosher | ||||||
19 | opened The Frameworks, a picture framing service in downtown | ||||||
20 | Galesburg; she opened the store with David Robinson in the | ||||||
21 | late 1980s; she was very proud that the business she founded |

1 | has been passed to several owners and remains open to present | ||||||
2 | day; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was dedicated to her family and | ||||||
4 | friends throughout her life; her greatest joy came from the | ||||||
5 | accomplishments of those she loved, and she was a strong | ||||||
6 | source of support and encouragement for each of them | ||||||
7 | throughout her life; she also took genuine enjoyment from | ||||||
8 | reading, gardening, and sewing; and | ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was preceded in death by her | ||||||
10 | parents and her brother, Don Meyer; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher is survived by her husband of over | ||||||
12 | 65 years, Harlan; two daughters, Kathryn (Rich) Harden and | ||||||
13 | Laura Knosher; four grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Harden, | ||||||
14 | Colleen (Hamed) Aziz, Chad Thompson, and Eric Thompson; four | ||||||
15 | great-grandsons; and her brother, Bill Meyer; therefore, be it
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Margaret Louise "Peggy" Knosher and extend our sincere | ||||||
19 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
20 | her; and be it further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
