SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of David Lee Griffin of Milan, who passed 
4away on November 2, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, David Griffin was born to Elmer and Connie 
6(Miles) Griffin in Moline on December 26, 1946; he served in 
7the U.S. Army; he married Rita Hill in Milan on March 16, 1974; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, David Griffin was a logistics analyst at the Rock 
10Island Arsenal; he later worked as a consultant for Hancock 
11Management, retiring in 2011; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, David Griffin was a past president and 40 year 
13member of the Milan Lions Club, through which he was a Melvin 
14Jones Fellow; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, David Griffin enjoyed hunting, fishing, road 
16trips, and the Chicago Bears; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, David Griffin was preceded in death by his 
18parents and his brother, Ronald Griffin; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, David Griffin is survived by his wife, Rita; his

1children, Sherry Reynolds, Brett (Abby) Griffin, and Kara 
2Griffin; and his grandchildren, Lexy, Jack, Jon, Emmett, and 
3Van; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6David Lee Griffin and extend our sincere
condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

10presented to the family of David Griffin as an expression of

11our deepest sympathy.
