2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Roxanne Lynn Gregory of Staunton, who |
4 | | passed away on May 28, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was born to Walter L. "Bud" and |
6 | | Darlene A. (Dworzynski) Renko in Staunton on November 14, |
7 | | 1962; she married Robert H. Gregory in New Orleans, Louisiana |
8 | | on December 29, 1998; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory worked as a legal assistant and |
10 | | paralegal for over 35 years, and she served as the office |
11 | | manager for the Law Office of Robert H. Gregory in East Alton; |
12 | | and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was also a certified yoga |
14 | | instructor and a Nia White Belt; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory contributed time to the Staunton |
16 | | Food Pantry and Staunton Helping Hands; she co-founded and was |
17 | | an active participant of a local book club held at the Staunton |
18 | | VFW; she was a past member of the Staunton Lions Club; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was a passionate advocate for a |
20 | | number of causes, including environmental protection, |
|

1 | | protection for victims of domestic violence, alleviation of |
2 | | hunger and poverty in her community, prevention of child |
3 | | physical and sexual abuse, and the preservation of women's |
4 | | reproductive rights in Illinois; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory enjoyed practicing yoga, flower |
6 | | gardening, fishing, hiking, and reading; she also loved music |
7 | | and the arts; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was preceded in death by her |
9 | | father and her brother-in-law, Jan Fiss; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory is survived by her husband; her |
11 | | sons, Cory (Natalie) Tally, Stephen (Katie) Gregory, and Bobby |
12 | | (Ashley) Gregory; her grandchildren, Christian Tally, Richter |
13 | | Gregory, Emery Gregory, and Palmer Gregory; her mother; her |
14 | | brothers, Mark L. Renko, Duane A. (Angela) Renko, and Ryan J. |
15 | | Renko; her parents-in-law, William and Evelyn Gregory; her |
16 | | sister-in-law, Marsha Weston-Fiss; and her niece, Michelle |
17 | | (Bryan) Roy; therefore, be it
