SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Roxanne Lynn Gregory of Staunton, who
4passed away on May 28, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was born to Walter L. "Bud" and
6Darlene A. (Dworzynski) Renko in Staunton on November 14,
71962; she married Robert H. Gregory in New Orleans, Louisiana
8on December 29, 1998; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory worked as a legal assistant and
10paralegal for over 35 years, and she served as the office
11manager for the Law Office of Robert H. Gregory in East Alton;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was also a certified yoga
14instructor and a Nia White Belt; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory contributed time to the Staunton
16Food Pantry and Staunton Helping Hands; she co-founded and was
17an active participant of a local book club held at the Staunton
18VFW; she was a past member of the Staunton Lions Club; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was a passionate advocate for a
20number of causes, including environmental protection,

1protection for victims of domestic violence, alleviation of
2hunger and poverty in her community, prevention of child
3physical and sexual abuse, and the preservation of women's
4reproductive rights in Illinois; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory enjoyed practicing yoga, flower
6gardening, fishing, hiking, and reading; she also loved music
7and the arts; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory was preceded in death by her
9father and her brother-in-law, Jan Fiss; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Roxanne Gregory is survived by her husband; her
11sons, Cory (Natalie) Tally, Stephen (Katie) Gregory, and Bobby
12(Ashley) Gregory; her grandchildren, Christian Tally, Richter
13Gregory, Emery Gregory, and Palmer Gregory; her mother; her
14brothers, Mark L. Renko, Duane A. (Angela) Renko, and Ryan J.
15Renko; her parents-in-law, William and Evelyn Gregory; her
16sister-in-law, Marsha Weston-Fiss; and her niece, Michelle
17(Bryan) Roy; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Roxanne Lynn Gregory and extend our sincere condolences to her
21family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
22further
