SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Julie Ann Knight of Granite City, who
4passed away on October 29, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Julie Knight was born to James Lewis Sr. and
6JoAnn Thornton in Granite City on May 27, 1971; she married
7Craig S. Knight at The Chapel of Flowers in Las Vegas in 2001;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Julie Knight was an office coordinator at Premier
10Dental in St. Louis, where she provided 20 years of dedicated
11service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Julie Knight served as an advocate for cancer
13patients and survivors over the past several years, working
14with service dogs to bring comfort to children at St. Louis
15Children's Hospital; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Julie Knight was a member of Calvary Life Church
17in Granite City; on occasion, she coached her children's
18sports teams; she enjoyed going on family vacations,
19decorating, and shopping; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Julie Knight was devoted to her children and had

1a special love for all children, always looking to give love to
2others in any way possible; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Julie Knight was preceded in death by her
4parents; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Julie Knight is survived by her husband; her son,
6Chase Knight; her daughter, Abby Knight; her siblings, Jim
7Lewis, Steve Lewis, Carmon Lewis, and Dawn Berry; her special
8nephews, Cory and Dylan Lewis; her parents-in-law, Don and
9Jane Knight; her brother-in-law, Rick (Sheila) Knight; her
10sisters-in-law, Tammy (Tom) Roberts and Robin (Aaron) Flynn;
11her nieces and nephews; her other extended family; and her
12many cherished friends; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Julie Ann Knight and extend our sincere condolences to her
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Julie Knight as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
