SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Marillyn Rosalie (Wright) Wilson of
4Milan, who passed away on October 26, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson was born on September 30, 1922;
6she graduated from Moline High School in 1940; after high
7school, she enlisted in the Women Accepted for Volunteer
8Emergency Service (WAVES) of the U.S. Navy, where she served
9for 18 months while stationed in Washington D.C.; she married
10Gerald "Gay" Wilson on July 20, 1946, and he preceded her in
11death on May 10, 2004; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson worked as a secretary for several
13companies, retiring from the Q.C. Electrical Contractors
14Association; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson was a member of the Pythian
16Sisters and Trinity United Methodist Church of Milan; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson's greatest pleasure was spending
18time with her family, and they recently celebrated her 100th
19birthday; she also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson was preceded in death by her

1husband of 58 years; her parents, Cecil and Cora Wright; her
2sisters, Alyce Epperson and Marlene Souder; and her
3step-granddaughter, Crystal Newman; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson is survived by her son, Timothy
5(Theresa) Wilson; her daughters, Lucinda (Robert) Willhite and
6Jerilyn (Ron) Johnson; her grandchildren, Tyler (Haley)
7Willhite, Grady Johnson, and Tessa (Alex) Karwath; her
8step-granddaughter, Emerald Johnson; her great-grandchildren,
9Tarique Newman and Naseem Newman; and her numerous nieces and
10nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Marillyn Rosalie (Wright) Wilson and extend our sincere
14condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Marillyn Wilson as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
