| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Larry Owen Tadlock, D.V.M. of the Quad |
| 4 | | Cities, who passed away on October 5, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock was born to Helen (Shull) and Grant |
| 6 | | Owen Tadlock in Moravia, Iowa on June 5, 1933; he served in the |
| 7 | | U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956, where he worked as a small arms |
| 8 | | weaponry instructor before being stationed in Germany; he |
| 9 | | married JoAn Callen in Moravia on January 10, 1954; he earned |
| 10 | | his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University |
| 11 | | in 1962; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock joined the veterinary practice of Dr. |
| 13 | | Ralph Ruggles in Moline in 1962; he was a partner at a clinic |
| 14 | | in Granite City from 1965 through 1971; he joined the Rock |
| 15 | | Island Animal Hospital as a partner in 1971, retiring as its |
| 16 | | sole proprietor in 2010; he also helped in the creation of the |
| 17 | | Animal Emergency Center of the Quad Cities; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock joined Rotary International in |
| 19 | | Granite City in 1969, and he was a member of the Rock Island |
| 20 | | Rotary Club from 1971 until his passing; he served the club and |
| 21 | | the district in numerous capacities, including as president |
| 22 | | and as a 15-year member and three-year chair of the Rotary |

| 1 | | Group Study Exchange Committee;
he also maintained a perfect |
| 2 | | attendance record for nearly 40 years; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock was a skilled and accomplished |
| 4 | | woodworker; he enjoyed traveling with his family, including to |
| 5 | | Buffalo River in Arkansas, Yellowstone National Park, Lake |
| 6 | | Rathbun, and a special camping trip to the Oregon Coast with |
| 7 | | his wife; his passion for backpacking led him to the bottom of |
| 8 | | the Grand Canyon and back, Glacier National Park, and various |
| 9 | | parts of the Colorado Rockies; he led 29 canoeing trips to the |
| 10 | | Boundary Waters of Canada; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock was preceded in death by his son, |
| 12 | | Mark Tadlock; his siblings, Basil Tadlock and Imogene Tisue; |
| 13 | | and his parents; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock is survived by his wife, JoAn; his |
| 15 | | daughters, Larianne (Chuck) Richards, Sherri (Craig) DeVrieze, |
| 16 | | and Jann (Dan) Koert; his grandchildren, Dillon (Molly) Behr, |
| 17 | | Ryan Proctor, Sabrina (Eladio) Pena, Adam (Samantha) Tadlock, |
| 18 | | and Jesse (Maxine Robles) Topping; his 11 great-grandchildren; |
| 19 | | his three great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Joe |
| 20 | | Tadlock, Irene Brooks, and Naomi Hutt; therefore, be it
