|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Edward J. "Ed" Bedore of Springfield, |
4 | | who passed away on September 15, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Bedore was born to John and Helen (Foster) |
6 | | Bedore in Chicago on November 18, 1937; he served in the U.S. |
7 | | Marine Corps; he married Judith "Judy" Ann Cannon in Chicago |
8 | | on April 11, 1959, and they moved to Springfield in 1995; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Ed Bedore held many positions during his career |
10 | | in Chicago, including serving as president of All Saints |
11 | | Credit Union, as budget director for the City of Chicago under |
12 | | Richard J. Daley and Michael Bilandic, as a member of the |
13 | | Chicago Board of Trade, as treasurer of Chicago Transit |
14 | | Authority, and as chief financial officer for the City of |
15 | | Chicago under Richard M. Daley; he developed the financial |
16 | | plan for Millennium Park and was the city project manager for |
17 | | the new Soldier Field; he retired in 1995; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Ed Bedore served as a board member for Catholic |
19 | | Charities and as treasurer for St. Patrick's Catholic School; |
20 | | he was also a member of the Illinois Procurement Policy Board |
21 | | since its inception in 1995; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Ed Bedore was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the |
2 | | Rotary Club of Springfield; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Ed Bedore was a husband, father, grandfather, |
4 | | great-grandfather, and friend; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Bedore is survived by his wife of 63 years, |
6 | | Judy Bedore; his son, David (Julie) Bedore; his daughters, |
7 | | Mary (Dr. Gary Moeller) Bedore, Sharon (Dr. John) Kwedar, and |
8 | | Bridget (Jordan Polansky) Bedore; his grandchildren, Dr. Katie |
9 | | (Dr. Taylor) Conklin, Annie (Dan) Williams, Ben (Emily) |
10 | | Kwedar, Judy Kwedar, Maggie Bedore, Jack Bedore, and Connor |
11 | | Bedore; and his great-grandchildren, Cassie Williams, Tessa |
12 | | Williams, Aurelia Kwedar, and Brooks Conklin; therefore, be it

13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
15 | | Edward J. "Ed" Bedore and extend our sincere condolences to |
16 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
17 | | further

18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Ed Bedore as an expression of our |
20 | | deepest sympathy.
