SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Susan K. Dunlap, who passed away on
4September 15, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was born to Roger L. Kaiser and Mary
6Jane Lilya Kaiser in Peoria on July 8, 1945; she attended the
7University of Illinois; she married William "Howard" Dunlap in
8Chillicothe on June 18, 1966; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was very active in the Peoria
10community; she was a music teacher for Peoria School District
11150 and the choir director at St. Vincent's Church for over 25
12years; she also owned the Peoria Academy of Gymnastics; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was a longtime member of St.
14Philomena Catholic Church; she volunteered at the Neonatal
15Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of OSF Children's Hospital; for
16many years, she assisted the Lindberg School's swing choir and
17St. Philomena's speech team; she served as music director for
18several plays and musicals at Bergan High School, including
19Godspell and The Wiz; she was also an avid volunteer for the
20local Democratic Committee in Peoria; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was an avid Illini football and

1basketball fan, and she and her husband were season ticket
2holders for many years; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was preceded in death by her
4parents; her brother, Roger Allen Kaiser; and her grandson,
5Noah Roof; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap is survived by her husband; her
7daughters, Kellie (Scott) Fleeman, Kristen (Mike) Selk, and
8Heather (Patrick) Donnelly; her sister, Sally Hollifield; her
9sister-in-law, Sally Kaiser; her grandchildren, Brittan
10Rooney, Alexa Rooney, Savanna (Truman) Ralph, Chloe Fleeman,
11Hillary (Alex) Sadauskas, Jack Donnelly, Mary Jane Donnelly,
12Meredith (Jeff Bolt) Roof, Nicholas Roof, and Zachary Selk;
13her great-granddaughter on the way; her nieces, Stephanie
14Fiddes and Amy Trudel; and her nephews, Brent McClughen and
15Mark Kaiser; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Susan K. Dunlap and extend our sincere condolences to her
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Susan Dunlap as an expression of our
