SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of David Bernard Menke of Moline, who 
4passed away on August 10, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, David Menke was born to Christopher and Rose 
6(Pomberg) Menke in Houghton, Iowa on September 28, 1938; he 
7served in the U.S. Navy, where he was stationed in Alaska for 
8two years; he married Annette Davis in Fort Madison, Iowa on 
9September 25, 1960; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, David Menke was a tool and die maker for several 
11area businesses, spending most of his career at the Rock 
12Island Arsenal; he retired in September 2000; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, David Menke belonged to Calvary Lutheran Church, 
14the Horticulture Club, and the International Association of 
15Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM); he enjoyed collecting 
16and repairing cuckoo clocks; he also enjoyed woodworking and 
17refinishing; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, David Menke was preceded in death by his parents 
19and his siblings, Mary Ellen Searcy, Clarence Menke, and 
20Leonard Menke; and

1    WHEREAS, David Menke is survived by his wife, Annette; his 
2sons, Zack Menke and Tor (Terri) Menke; his grandchildren, 
3Jacqueline Menke, Colton Menke, and Raegan Menke; and his 
4sisters, Fran Beck and Ruth Stewart; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7David Bernard Menke and extend our sincere condolences to his 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of David Menke as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
