SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Delmar G. Moore of Rock Island, who
4passed away on August 7, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Delmar Moore was born to Dewey and Winifred
6(Yates) Moore in Knoxville on February 8, 1927; he served in
7the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II; he graduated from
8Rock Island High School in 1945 and Olivet Nazarene University
9in Kankakee in 1951; he married Donna Husemann in Rushville on
10June 22, 1957; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Delmar Moore worked at the Augustana Book Concern
12and Bear Manufacturing; he retired from Augustana College in
131992; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Delmar Moore was committed to his faith and was a
15lifetime member of First Church of the Nazarene in Rock
16Island, serving in multiple capacities; he received the
17Distinguished Service Award for serving as treasurer for 25
18years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Delmar Moore was known for being content with the
20simple things in life; he enjoyed gardening, reading, and
21studying genealogy; he will be remembered as a wonderful

1husband, father, and grandfather; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Delmar Moore was preceded in death by his
3sisters, Clarice Wass and Melva Eastwood, and his niece, Judy
4Wass; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Delmar Moore is survived by his wife of 65 years,
6Donna; his daughter, Martha (Ken) Wynes; his son, Daniel
7(Debbie) Moore; his grandchildren, Marisa, Taylor, Jackie
8(Sean), Chad (Julie), and Nyk; and his great-grandchildren,
9Starr, Jera, Yezabelle, William, Danielle, Kenzlie, and
10Braylynn; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Delmar G. Moore and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Delmar Moore as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
