SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William Floyd Gloe of Moline, who
4passed away on July 23, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Gloe was born in Davenport, Iowa to Floyd
6and Fern (Hileman) Gloe on June 6, 1934; he graduated from
7Davenport High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Air Force
8from 1953 to 1957; he married Beverly Shepherd at St. Pius X
9Catholic Church in Rock Island on November 15, 1958; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Gloe was a self-employed carpenter and
11worked for himself and other contractors, specializing in trim
12work; and
 
13    WHEREAS, William Gloe enjoyed crossword puzzles and
14traveling to Colorado and Michigan with his family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, William Gloe was preceded in death by his wife,
16Beverly; his parents; and his son-in-law, Tom Coats; and
 
17    WHEREAS, William Gloe is survived by his children, Karen
18Coats, Gregg Gloe, and Stephanie Gloe; his grandchildren,
19Samantha (Connor) Strait, Alex Coats, and Katharine Coats; and
20his great-grandson, Gunner Strait; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3William Floyd Gloe and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of William Gloe as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
