SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Michael Warren "Mike" O'Neill of
4Moline, who passed away on July 4, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill was born to William Richard and
6Carol (Skoglund) O'Neill in Moline on June 29, 1937; he
7graduated from Moline High School in 1955; he attended Black
8Hawk College; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Donna
9Bernece Ziegler in Moline on September 12, 1959, and she
10preceded him in death on August 7, 2017; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill retired as Vice President of
12Operations for BankOne in Moline in 1998, and he had been
13employed by the bank and its predecessors for 40 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill was a member and trustee of First
15Baptist Church in Moline; he was previously involved in Junior
16Achievement and the Miss Moline Pageant; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill enjoyed racquetball, woodworking,
18traveling with his wife in their RV, and camping and fishing,
19especially with his grandchildren; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill was preceded in death by his wife

1and parents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill is survived by his sons, Curt (Lisa)
3O'Neill and Tim (Trudy) O'Neill; his grandchildren, Danny
4(Danielle) O'Neill, Amy (Evan) Wendell, Kevin (Hailey)
5O'Neill, Meagan (Jorge) Cabrera, and Shawn (Molly) O'Neill;
6his great-grandchildren, Bennett, Amalia, and Ellis O'Neill;
7and his sisters, Patricia (Richard) Haney and Cathy
8Houghtaling; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Michael Warren "Mike" O'Neill and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mike O'Neill as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
