SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Bernard Gerald "Jerry" Allen Jr.; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Jerry Allen was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and 
5graduated from the  De La Salle Academy in Kansas City, 
6Missouri, where he was a Cadet Colonel as a senior; he then 
7attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and was a 
8member of the championship football team in 1959; he served in 
9the U.S. Navy for four years; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerry Allen joined IBM as a salesperson and  
11worked there for more than 25 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Jerry Allen was a lifelong learner and armchair 
13archaeologist; he loved to travel and  was active in Sun City's 
14bocce and other clubs; he was a loving father and friend; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Jerry Allen was preceded in death by his sister, 
16Patti Sanders, and his former wife and the mother of his 
17children, Nancy Micaletti; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Jerry Allen is survived by his children, Bernie 
19(Angela) and Laura (Bertram); his grandchildren, Bradley, 
20Audrey, Madeleine, Joseph, and Griffin; and his former wife

1and friend, Bobbi; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Bernard Gerald "Jerry" Allen Jr. and extend our sincere 
5condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
6him; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Jerry Allen as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
