SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Earl L. Hansen of Moline, who passed
4away on June 29, 2022 at the age of 100; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Hansen was born in Ringsted, Iowa to John
6and Sena Hansen on July 20, 1921; he worked at Eagle Signal
7before joining the U.S. Army, where he served over three years
8in the South Pacific and received a Bronze Star for his
9service; he married Mary Lynn in Moline on July 10, 1942; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Earl Hansen returned to Eagle Signal after his
11service; he also worked as a machine operator and inspector at
12John Deere, retiring in 1979 after 30 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Earl Hansen was a member of First Lutheran Church
14in Moline and the UAW 865 in East Moline and a social member of
15the Vikings Club; he enjoyed working on cars and being with his
16family; he was avid NASCAR fan and loved traveling to watch the
17Daytona races; he also enjoyed spending his winters in
18Florida; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Earl Hansen was preceded in death by his wife,
20Mary Lynn; his parents; his brother, Harold; and his sister,
21Gladys McCloud; and

1    WHEREAS, Earl Hansen is survived by his sons, Roy (Helen),
2Lloyd (Cathe), and Chris (Colleen) Hansen; seven
3grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one
4great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Earl L. Hansen and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Earl Hansen as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
