2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Nancy M. Kubalanza, who passed away on |
4 | | May 19, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza was born to Margaret (Pickett) |
6 | | and Roger Johnson in Watertown, New York on October 29, 1941; |
7 | | she graduated from Watertown High School in 1959; she married |
8 | | Walter Kubalanza in 1961, and they later moved their family to |
9 | | Fox Lake, Illinois; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza worked as a school bus driver; |
11 | | and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza served as a Republican Precinct |
13 | | Committeeman and the Grant Township Republican Chairman for |
14 | | over 30 years; she was the State Central Committeewoman for |
15 | | the 8th and 10th Congressional Districts, a delegate at |
16 | | several Illinois Republican Conventions, and the president of |
17 | | the Grant Township Republican Club; she was also the long-time |
18 | | chairman of the Grant Township Republican Club's Lincoln Day |
19 | | Dinner; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza was a lioness in the Fox Lake |
21 | | Lions Club and a long-time member and president of the Fox |

1 | | Lake-Grant Township Area Historical Society; she also led |
2 | | scout troops, was involved in the PTA, and served as a |
3 | | volunteer coach; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza was affectionately known as |
5 | | "Ommie"; she will be remembered as a natural born leader and a |
6 | | fiercely dedicated mother and grandmother; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza was preceded in death by her |
8 | | parents and her grandparents; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Kubalanza is survived by her husband, |
10 | | Walter; her children, Marjorie (Christopher) |
11 | | Kubalanza-Fortier, Walter Kubalanza, and Angela (Scott) Wold; |
12 | | her grandchildren, Zachary Rappe, Emma Rappe, and Katelyn |
13 | | Kubalanza; her siblings, Trudy Corbett, Cliff (Sue) Lashway, |
14 | | John Johnson, and Virginia Johnson; and her many cousins, |
15 | | nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Nancy M. Kubalanza and extend our sincere
condolences to her |
19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
