SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Donald Schutzenhofer of Granite City,
4who passed away on May 20, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer was born to Joseph F. and
6Anna Mae (Williams) Schutzenhofer in East St. Louis on
7November 6, 1936; he proudly served his country with the U.S.
8Army Reserves; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer retired in 1992 from Granite
10City School District #9 after many years of dedicated service
11as a custodian; he had also owned and operated the D&B
12Employment Agency in Granite City and had worked at American
13Steel for several years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer loved visiting the Casino
15Queen and enjoyed gambling and playing the slot machines; he
16also enjoyed cooking and playing cards, especially Spades; he
17looked forward to trips to the lake to visit with his brother;
18he always had a joke to tell and will be especially remembered
19for the love and special times he shared with his family and
20friends; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer was preceded in death by his

1parents; his grandson, Aaron Schutzenhofer; and his brother
2and sister-in-law, Joey and Mary Schutzenhofer; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer is survived by his son,
4Christopher Schutzenhofer; his four daughters, Carla (Richard)
5Gillespie, Carie (Jim) Evans, Candi (Jim) Parker, and Cathi
6(Tim) Strazinsky; his 15 grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, Nick,
7Mary, Ricky, DJ, Alex, Brendan, Hunter, Drake, Reid, Taylor,
8Madison, Mitch, and Logan; his great-grandchildren; his
9sister, Norma Graves; his nieces and nephews and other
10extended family; and his friends; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Donald Schutzenhofer and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Donald Schutzenhofer as an
18expression of our deepest sympathy.
