2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Frank R. Banfield of Moline, who |
4 | | passed away on April 13, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Frank Banfield was born to Arch and Gertrude |
6 | | (McSparin) Banfield in Carlisle, Indiana on September 13, |
7 | | 1927; he enlisted in U.S. Navy in 1944 and served until the end |
8 | | of World War II; he was stationed in Okinawa during the Battle |
9 | | of Okinawa; he later enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served |
10 | | during the Berlin Air Lift; he married Jeanne Blue at Union |
11 | | Congregational Church in Moline on March 7, 1953; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Frank Banfield worked at Oscar Mayer as a meat |
13 | | cutter, retiring in 1989; he later worked at Jewel Foods from |
14 | | 1990 to 1997; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Frank Banfield volunteered at his children's |
16 | | schools and was Santa at the South Park Mall for ten years; and |
17 | | WHEREAS, Frank Banfield was a member of First Lutheran |
18 | | Church in Moline; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Frank Banfield enjoyed bowling, going to museums, |
20 | | and attending concerts; he loved going to car shows, |
|

1 | | bicycling, and going on road trips; and
|
2 | | WHEREAS, Frank Banfield was preceded in death by his wife; |
3 | | his parents; his infant daughter, Debra; his grandson, Chad; |
4 | | his siblings, Orville, Leonard, James, Arthur, Lawrence, |
5 | | Ervin, Helen Hicks, Avenell Bos, and Clarabelle Fogle; and his |
6 | | infant brother, Clarence; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Frank Banfield is survived by his children, |
8 | | Cheryl "Sheri" (Earl) Fangmeier, Denise (Dan) Bennett, Dana |
9 | | (Debra) Banfield, Kevin (Monica) Banfield, and Kara (Jon) |
10 | | Banfield Vermeire; his grandchildren, Chris (Stacy) Banfield, |
11 | | Greg (Jennifer) Webb, Josh Webb, Amy (Kyle) Heydeman, Darcie |
12 | | Banfield, Dawn Banfield, Misti (Jim) Vignola, and Ami (Joe) |
13 | | Cudd; his great-grandchildren, Turner, Caleb, Zander, Landon, |
14 | | Lucas, Natalie, Max, and Briahna; and one great-granddaughter |
15 | | on the way; therefore, be it
